UTICA, NY- The Utica College women's lacrosse team returns home Tuesday evening to host crosstown foe SUNY Polytechnic Institute at 4 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT: The Pioneers are fresh off a 12-8 win over Albright College this past Saturday... Senior Megan Kane (Staten Island, NY/Tottenville) led the team with three goals and two assists, while adding two ground balls, two caused turnovers and one draw control... Junior Courtney Wheeler (Ava, NY/Rome Free Academy) and sophomore Rebecca Plunkett (Kings Park, NY/Kings Park) combined for six goals, three ground balls and two caused turnovers… Rounding out the scoring were freshmen Brooke Miller (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) (two goals) and sophomore Tewasherake Barnes (Akwesasne, NY/Salmon River). Junior net minder Kells Casey (Sandwich, MA/Kimball Union Academy) collected a career-high 16 saves in all 60 minutes of play.

MAKING HER MARK: Senior Megan Kane (Staten Island, NY/Tottenville) leads the team with 20 points so far this season (15 goals, 5 assists)… She is currently sixth all time at UC in career points with 140 and is just two points away from claiming the number five position currently held by 2004 graduate Kat Glynn... She is also ranked fifth on the all-time list for career goals with 106 and is averaging three goals per game this season.

ALSO IN THE SPOTLIGHT: Senior Morgan DuPont (Wynantskill, NY/Averill Park) is also well on her way to making a name for herself on the all-time lists... She is just four points away from claiming the number eight spot on the all-time career points list held by Lauren Schreiner '06... DuPont is currently the all-time leader in assists at Utica with 76.

CAUSING CHAOS: The Pioneers lead the Empire 8 conference in caused turnovers with 64 so far this season... Sisters Megan Kane (Staten Island, NY/Tottenville) and Patricia Kane (Staten Island, NY/Tottenville) account for 29 of those turnovers combined... Megan Kane (Staten Island, NY/Tottenville) is ranked 18^th nationally in caused turnovers with 3.20 per game while Patricia Kane (Staten Island, NY/Tottenville) is ranked 51^st in the nation with 2.60 per game.

AGAINST SUNY POLY: The Pioneers are 3-0 all-time against SUNY Poly, outscoring the Wildcats 53-7... The last time two teams faced off, Megan Kane (Staten Island, NY/Tottenville), Courtney Wheeler, Rebecca Plunkett (Kings Park, NY/Kings Park) and Xiomara Rodriguez (Bay Shore, NY/Brentwood) each scored for the Pioneers in the 19-2 win.

SCOUTING SUNY POLY: The Wildcats are coming off an 18-10 loss to SUNY Canton this past Saturday... The team is currently 2-1 overall and led by sophomore Krysta Beha with 20 points (16 goals, 4 assists)... Beha is the nation's leader in draw controls with 37... SUNY Poly has outscored its opponents 43-27 on the season, with a 9.00 goals against average.

LOOKING AHEAD: Following Tuesday's game the Pioneers hit the road to open up Empire 8 Conference play… UC will travel to Hoboken, NJ on Friday to take on Stevens Institute of Technology (2 p.m.), before heading to Hartwick College to take on the Hawks on Saturday (1 p.m.).
