KEUKA PARK, NY -- The Utica College women's lacrosse team cruised to victory over host Keuka College, 19-4, in non-conference action Thursday evening. Senior
Morgan DuPont (Wynantskill, NY/Averill Park) led the Pioneers with a season-high seven points on three goals and four assists.

With the win, UC improves to 6-3 overall and avenges an 11-10 loss at the hands of the Wolfpack last season. Utica will enjoy a week off before returning to Empire 8 Conference play next weekend as it hosts Alfred University and Nazareth College on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Both games are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
Freshman
Brooke Miller (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) tied her career-high with four goals, while
Courtney Wheeler (Ava, NY/Rome Free Academy)'s six point effort also tied her own career-best.Â
Megan Kane (Staten Island, NY/Tottenville) has now netted four or more goals in three games this season.

Utica jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first five minutes of the contest behind a pair of goals from
Courtney Wheeler (Ava, NY/Rome Free Academy), and one tally each from
Megan Kane (Staten Island, NY/Tottenville) and
Brooke Miller (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy). The Pioneers went on to hold a 9-2 advantage after the first 30 minutes. Utica did not slow down as it netted 10 goals in the second half to earn the victory.

Miller and Kane each ended the day with four goals, with Kane adding four draw controls and four ground balls. Wheeler and DuPont each found the back of the net three times, with DuPont adding a team-high four assists and Wheeler dishing out three assists. Sophomore
Rebecca Plunkett (Kings Park, NY/Kings Park) and freshman
Melissa Koch (Syracuse, NY/East Syracuse Minoa) each scored two goals, while
Patricia Kane (Staten Island, NY/Tottenville) had one goal.Â

Kells Casey (Sandwich, MA/Kimball Union Academy) made seven saves in nearly 52 minutes of work, while teammate
Erin Jacobson (Staten Island, NY/Curtis) had two saves in eight minutes of relief. Keuka's Maeve Fletcher made ten saves in the loss.
