UTICA, NY – The Utica College men's soccer team returns home this Saturday for an Empire 8 Conference game against Nazareth College. The Pioneers are looking to get their first win in conference play. The game is scheduled for 4 p.m.

Last Time Out: The Pioneers dropped a close game 1-0 against Hamilton College on Wednesday… The Continentals scored in the 69^th minute to ensure a victory in a tightly contested game… The game was the last of a three game road trip that saw Utica go 1-2 while on the road.

Offensive Output: The Pioneers have eight players with at least one goal this season…Senior Shane Ruffing (Rochester, NY/Westborough) and sophomore Bita Gazashvili (Tiblisi, Georgia) lead the team with three goals apiece…Patrick Claffey (Burlington, CT/Lewis Mills) and John Burke (Commack. NY/Commack) have each added two goals…Justin Schray (Oxford, NY/Oxford), Peyton LeReaux, Nicolas Diaz (Commack, NY/Commack), and Raine Owens (Pine Plains, NY/Stissing Mt. ) all have added one goal.

Team Effort: At least eight Pioneers have assists this year… Gazashvili leads the team with three assists followed by Ruffing who has two assists…Claffey, Schray, Matt Beljan (Bedminster, PA/Christopher Dock), Joseph Hunter (Plymouth Meeting, PA/Plymouth-Whitemarsh), Jordan Senay (Lockport, NY/Lockport), and Julian Fonseca (Rocky Hill, CT/Bridgton) all have added one assist on the year.

In The Net: Senior Nick Hallett (Adams, NY/South Jefferson CSD) is second in the Empire 8 in saves (41) and third in saves per game (5.86)…Hallett has a .759 save percentage so far on the year.

Scouting Nazareth: The Golden Flyers are 0-8 on the year and 0-1 in conference play…Nazareth is coming off of a 3-2 loss to RIT…Yacov Zohn leads the team with three points (one goal, one assist), while Alex McLean leads the team with 37 saves on the year.

Against The Golden Flyers: The Pioneers are 1-4 against the Golden Flyers over the last five years…UC last beat Nazareth 1-0 at Charles A. Gaetano stadium in 2013.
