UTICA, NY – The Utica College men's basketball team hosts Empire 8 Conference opponents Elmira College on Friday and Houghton College on Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Friday and 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Last Time Out: The Pioneers fell to Hartwick 78-65 in a conference match up on Tuesday … Robert Tutein (Nanuet, NY/Nanuet) had a game-high 22 points, but the Hawks used a big 42 point first half to help guide their way to victory … UC is now 3-8 overall and 0-3 in E8 play.
 
Climbing the Record Books: Robert Tutein (Nanuet, NY/Nanuet) currently ranks seventh all-time at UC with 115 career 3-pointers … He is one of eight players in program-history to make 100 or more 3-pointers in a career … He needs six more 3-pointers to surpass James Patterson '11 for sixth place on the program's all-time list … Tutein has 618 career points for the Pioneers ... This season, he leads the team and is eighth in the E8 in points per game (16.9) … He is fifth in the Empire 8 in 3-pointers per game (2.6) and in blocks per game (1.0) … Tutein has also contributed 45 rebounds, 10 steals, and nine assists this year.
 
Sophomore Duo: Ivan Iton (Ossining, NY/Ossining) is second on the team averaging 9.6 points per game while Carl Taylor (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) is fifth on the team with 7.5 points per game … Iton has 86 rebounds, 18 assists, 10 blocks, and six steals this year … Iton has come on strong as of late, scoring in double figures in each of his last four outings … He also has three double-doubles this season … The Pioneers are 2-1 when Iton records a double-double …He is also ranked eighth in the Empire 8 in rebounds per game (7.8) … Taylor has contributed 57 rebounds, 35 assists, six steals, and two blocks on the year.
 
Helping Out: Junior Agim Hamiti (Prishtina, Kosovo/Syracuse Academy of Science) is fourth on the team with 7.8 points per game while freshman Seamus McHugh (Latham, NY/Shaker) is averaging 6.7 points per game … Hamiti has also added 21 rebounds, seven assists, and four steals … McHugh has contributed 18 rebounds, 11 assists, and six steals.
 
Scouting Elmira: The Soaring Eagles are 2-11 overall with an 0-4 record in the Empire 8 … Elmira is currently on a four game losing streak … All four losses have been against Empire 8 opponents … The Soaring Eagles are led by Gino Leonardi (16.8 points per game, 45 rebounds, 33 assists, five steals, and three blocks) and Hayden Harkins (11.4 points per game, 27 rebounds, 12 assists, and four steals).
 
Against The Soaring Eagles: Utica is 7-3 against Elmira over the last five years … In that time, the Pioneers were 4-1 at home and 3-2 while on the road … Last year UC beat the Soaring Eagles 78-59 at home and lost to Elmira 75-64 on the road.
