ONEONTA, NY- Hartwick College netted 24 three-pointers as it topped the Utica College men's basketball team 109-50 in Empire 8 Conference action Wednesday evening.

The Hawks took the lead just 6:15 into the game and never looked back as they picked up their 12
th win of the season and seventh Empire 8 victory. The Pioneers fall to 5-11 on the year and 2-6 in the E8. UC will return to action Saturday as it hosts Alfred University. Game time is scheduled for 2 p.m.

Robert Tutein (Nanuet, NY/Nanuet) led the Pioneers with 11 points, while sophomore
Ivan Iton (Ossining, NY/Ossining) had nine points and a team-best 11 rebounds, including six off the offensive glass. Freshman
Justin Mayers (Hastings, NY/Hastings on the Hudson) scored seven points and added seven boards,
Carl Taylor (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) and
Shawn Celestin (Nanuet, NY/Nanuet) each had six points, while
Mike Cannizzo (Mechanicville, NY/Mechanicville),
Dylan Drexler (Rochester, NY/Greece Olympia), and
Seamus McHugh (Latham, NY/Shaker) also scored.Â

Hartwick shot 53 percent from beyond the arc and the Hawk bench outscored the Utica reserves 46-19 on the evening.Â
