UTICA, NY – The Utica College women's basketball team hosts Empire 8 Conference opponent Alfred University on Saturday at the Clark Athletic Center Gymnasium. Tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m.
 
Last Time Out: Utica lost a tough one, 64-39, against Hartwick on Wednesday in an Empire 8 road contest … Ashelyne Babb (Lynn, MA/Winthrop) led the way for the Pioneers with 12 points.
 
Looking To Bounce Back At Home: Utica is looking to snap a seven game losing streak that includes going 0-5 at home and 0-2 on the road … UC started the season 5-0 at home and is looking to return to its winning ways.
 
Leading The Way: Mary Miceli (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) leads the team averaging 14.5 points per game while Ashelyne Babb (Lynn, MA/Winthrop) is second on the team with 11.4 points per game … Miceli is first in the conference in minutes per game (36.4), third in the conference in 3-pointers per game (2.0), sixth in the conference in 3-point percentage (.296), and seventh in the conference in points per game … Babb is second in the conference in steals per game (2.1) and is 13^th in the conference in points per game.
 
Helping Out: The Pioneers have six players who are averaging five or more points per game … Ashley Mayo (Nanuet, NY/Nanuet) is third on the team with 8.3 points per game while Alaina Tripp (Clyde, NY/Clyde-Savannah) is fourth on the team with 6.6 points per game … Calypso Carty (Pipersville, PA/Central Bucks West) is fifth on the team with 6.5 points per game followed by Rachel Hunter (West Islip, NY/West Islip) who is averaging 5.6 points per game … Carty and Tripp lead the team with 101 and 92 rebounds, respectively.
 
Moving On Up: Miceli recently moved into eighth place on the College's career point's list and only needs 30 more points to move past Daphne Selby 79' for seventh … Miceli currently has 1,164 points in 90 career games … She is also second all-time with 156 career 3-pointers.
 
Scouting Alfred: The Saxons are 1-17 overall with a 0-9 conference record … Alfred is looking to snap a nine-game losing streak … The Saxons are led by Amanda Off (17.1 points per game, 142 rebounds, 17 assists, 17 blocks, and nine steals) and McKaylee Croll (12.8 points per game, 67 rebounds, 39 assists, and 13 steals).
 
Against The Saxons: UC won on the road 80-50 against Alfred earlier this season … Before that, game Utica was 9-1 against the Saxons over the last five years … Last year the Pioneers won both games against Alfred, 72-50 on the road and 76-43 at home.
