UTICA, NY – The Utica College men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision against host Hamilton College in non-conference action on the turf at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium Wednesday night. Hamilton netted a goal and in the first half and added two insurance tallies in the final 45 minutes to earn the three goal shutout victory over the Pioneers.
Utica's record moved to 2-10 overall on the season and they remain 1-3 in Empire 8 Conference play headed into Saturday's conference showdown at home against Houghton College (7 p.m.). Hamilton improved to 6-4-1 overall on the season.
Hamilton opened the scoring in the first half when Mike Lubelczyk headed home his third goal of the season, off assists from Alex Cadet and Killian Clancy, to give the Continentals a 1-0 lead at the 18:58 mark.
The second half saw Hamilton net two more goals by Aidan Wood (56:10) and Matt Cerveny (85:47) to seal the victory for the Continentals. Hamilton outshot the Pioneers 19-7 on the day, while the Pioneers earned several scoring opportunities throughout the game by way of six corner kicks, but could not find the back of the net.

Matthew Milograno (Marcy, NY/Whitesboro) stopped six shots on the afternoon, while Pete Calleri and Harris Pollack combined for five saves in net for the Continentals.
