ROCHESTER, NY- The Utica College volleyball team ran into stiff competition Saturday at the RIT Invitational as it fell to Brockport and St. John Fisher, each by a score of 3-0.

UC will look to bounce back Wednesday as it hosts SUNY Cobleskill for the last home game of the season. UC will also honor its lone senior,
Brandi Blaszak (Marcy, NY/Whitesboro), in a pre-game ceremony. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Utica 0, Brockport 3- Game One Final
The Golden Eagles jumped out to a 7-1 lead in the first set and never looked back as they cruised to a 25-13 win in the opening stanza. Utica battled back in the second set to take a 7-0 lead, but a timeout by Brockport slowed the Pioneers' momentum and the Golden Eagles were able to rebound to take the second set 25-21. Brockport went on to win the third set 25-15 and earn the 3-0 victory for the match.

Brandi Blaszak (Marcy, NY/Whitesboro) and sophomore
Nicole Herringshaw (Syracuse, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse) led Utica with five kills apiece, with Herringshaw also picking up a game-high two blocks. Sophomore
Hannah Voss (St. Louis, MO/Oakville) led the squad with 13 assists and she also added six digs, while
Andreana Kroup (Gloversville, NY/Gloversville) and
Paige Klock (Herkimer, NY/Herkimer) combined for 14 digs in the match. Blaszak and Voss also collected one service ace each in the loss.

Utica 0, St. John Fisher 3- Game Two Final
Despite falling in straight sets (25-13, 25-18, 25-17) Utica out-blocked St. John Fisher 4-0 and the Pioneers held a 35-28 advantage in digs. The service game turned out to be the difference maker as the Cardinals totaled 17 aces, while the Pioneers tallied just four service aces in the match.

Brandi Blaszak (Marcy, NY/Whitesboro) once again led the way with five kills, while freshmen
Paige Klock (Herkimer, NY/Herkimer) and
Monique Fletcher (Waterford, CT/Norwich Free Academy) each totaled three kills on the day.Â
Hannah Voss (St. Louis, MO/Oakville) picked up two aces to move her season total to a team-leading 44 service aces.

Voss also picked up a team-best seven assists, while
Megan Weiss (Windsor, CT/Northwest Catholic) and
Andreana Kroup (Gloversville, NY/Gloversville) each had three assists. Kroup led the Pioneers with 15 digs in the match, marking the ninth time this season she has recorded 10 of more digs in a single match.
Junior
Abigail Mosenthin (Dolgeville, NY/Dolgeville) was named to the All-Tournament team for her efforts over the four matches.Â
