UTICA, NY- The Utica College volleyball team is back in action Wednesday as it plays its home finale against SUNY Cobleskill.  Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m. 
 
LAST TIME OUT:  The Pioneers were 0-4 in the RIT Tournament last weekend... Junior Abigail Mosenthin (Dolgeville, NY/Dolgeville) was named to the All-Tournament team following her efforts in the four tournament matches.
 
TEAM LEADERS: Senior Brandi Blaszak (Marcy, NY/Whitesboro) leads the team with 203 kills, while sophomore Nicole Herringshaw (Syracuse, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse) is second with 160 kills...  Sophomore Hannah Voss (St. Louis, MO/Oakville) leads the team in assists (329) and service aces (44), and she has also totaled 154 kills… Freshman Megan Weiss (Windsor, CT/Northwest Catholic) is right behind Voss with 229 assists to her credit. 
 
SENIOR NIGHT:  The Pioneers will honor their lone senior prior to Wednesday's contest… Local native Brandi Blaszak (Marcy, NY/Whitesboro) will play in the final home game of her career… Blaszak is the College's all-time leader with 988 kills over the last four years… Blaszak became the first player in program history to be voted to either the first or second All-Conference team after she led the E8 in blocks (110) and blocks per set (.95) as a freshman…  She is currently pursuing her degree in History and Education. 
 
SCOUTING SUNY COBLESKILL: SUNY Cobleskill is 8-14 overall and they are 1-9 in the NEAC Conference...  The Fighting Tigers snapped a nine-game losing streak with 3-0 victories against Southern Vermont (10/6) and Castleton University (10/12)… Sophomore Emilie Reimer is one player that the Pioneers need to look out for...  She leads the team in kills this season with 125...  Sophomore Mackenzie Holbert leads the team in assists with 213. 
 
AGAINST THE FIGHTING TIGERS: The Pioneers beat Cobleskill 3-0 on the road on Sept. 28… Blaszak had a strong performance during the matchup as she recorded 10 kills and five blocks...  Freshman Monique Fletcher (Waterford, CT/Norwich Free Academy) also played a big role during that game recording seven kills… The Pioneers are 6-1 against the Fighting Tigers in the past four seasons.
 
LOOKING AHEAD: After Wednesday's contest, the team will travel to Ithaca to play two Empire 8 opponents in the Empire 8 POD on Saturday...  Utica will first play against the Ithaca Bombers at 11 a.m. followed by a matchup against the Houghton Highlanders at 1:30 p.m.
