UTICA, NY- The Utica College field hockey team used two goals in the second half to down host Nazareth College 2-0 in Empire 8 Conference action Saturday afternoon.

Jordan Noga (Marcy, NY/Whitesboro) and sophomore
Rebecca Kauffman (Mount Joy, PA/Linden Hall) scored just 58 seconds apart to give Utica the two-goal cushion with 22 minutes left to play. Noga's tally was her first career goal, while Kauffman netted her third score of the season.  The Utica defense, led by goalie
Samantha Whitehouse (Greenwich, NY/Greenwich) held strong to pick up the win and earn UC its second shutout of the season.

Whitehouse made four saves in the win to bring her season total to 132, which ranks third on the College's single-season saves list. Her four career shutouts also rank fifth all-time in program history. Naz's Kimber Nourse made 12 saves in the loss.

The Pioneers improve to 3-10 overall and 2-4 in the E8. UC will have a week off before traveling to Houghton College for a big Empire 8 contest against the Highlanders. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
