Last Time Out: Utica lost a tight contest against Alfred 76-70 on Saturday at home … UC has dropped to 5-12 overall and 2-7 in the conference … The Pioneers were led by
Agim Hamiti (Prishtina, Kosovo/Syracuse Academy of Science) and
Robert Tutein (Nanuet, NY/Nanuet) who both put up a game high 21 points.
Climbing The Record Books: Tutein moved into fifth all-time in the College's record books in 3-pointers on Saturday … He now has 134 3-pointers in his career … He needs 25 more 3-pointers to pass
Conor Maisch (Kingston, NY/John A. Coleman) 15' for fourth all-time … He is one of eight players in program-history to make 100 or more 3-pointers in a career … He now has 739 points in 79 career games at UC … Tutein is first on the team and sixth in the E8 in points per game (18.1), he is sixth in the conference in 3-point percentage (.393), sixth in the conference minutes (32.4), fifth in blocks per game (1.1), and fifth in 3-pointers per game (2.8).
Helping Out: Playing in 10 of the 17 games this year, Hamiti is second on the team in points per game (12.1), steals (12), and assist per game (1.8) … He has six games where he has scored 10 or more points and has three games where he has scored over 20 points.
Sophomore Duo: Ivan Iton (Ossining, NY/Ossining) and
Carl Taylor (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) are third and fifth on the team with 9.8 points per game and 6.9 points per game, respectively … Iton is sixth the conference in blocks per game (1.0) and ninth in the conference in rebounds per game (8.0) … Iton leads the team with 136 rebounds and has chipped in 25 assists, 17 blocks, and nine steals … Taylor leads the team with 51 assists and has added 78 rebounds, 11 steals, and five blocks.
Scouting St. John Fisher: The Cardinals are 12-5 overall and 6-2 in the Empire 8… St. John Fisher is currently coming off a loss to conference opponent Stevens …The Cardinals are led by Ryan Keegan (16.8 points per game, 19 assists, 164 rebounds, 4 steals and nine blocks) and Tyler Hart (14. 6 points per game, 37 assists, 37 rebounds, 13 steals and three blocks).
Against the Cardinals: UC was scheduled to play St John Fisher earlier in the season but the game was postponed due to weather … Utica is 1-9 over the last five years against the Cardinals.
