Women's Lacrosse Travels to Morrisville in Non-Conference Action

UTICA, NY – The Utica College women's lacrosse team travels to take on Morrisville in non-conference action on Wednesday. The game is scheduled for 4 p.m.
 
Last Time Out: The Pioneers fell at home to the visiting Oswego State Lakers 13-5 … Three different players scored for Utica including Sara Hennessey (East Syracuse, NY/East Syracuse Minoa) and Courtney Wheeler (Ava, NY/Rome Free Academy) who both had two goals on the day … UC is now 3-3 on the year so far.
 
Leading The Way: Rebecca Plunkett (Kings Park, NY/Kings Park) leads the team with 17 points off of a team high 16 goals and one assist … Plunkett is also second in the Empire 8 conference in draw controls per game with 4.83) … Courtney Wheeler (Ava, NY/Rome Free Academy) is second on the team with 13 points off of 10 goals and three assists while Brooke Miller (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) is third on the team with 10 points off of four goals and six assists … Wheeler is fifth in the conference in draw controls per game with 3.17).
 
Helping Out: Freshman Katlyn Scarpinella (South Setauket, NY/Ward Melville) is fourth on the team with nine points off of seven goals and two assists … Junior Sara Hennessey (East Syracuse, NY/East Syracuse Minoa) and freshmen Mary Stuhlman (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro)  each have four points off of three goals and one assist … Amanda Chruscicki (Utica, NY/Whitesboro) has three points off of two goals and one assist while Colleen Dowling (Fairport, NY/Fairport) has three points off of one goal and two assists.
 
Strong Defense: Maggie Notter (Clifton Springs, NY/Midlakes) leads the team with 15 caused turnovers while Briana Estabrook (Tully, NY/Tully ) is second on the team with 13 caused turnovers … Notter is third in the conference in turnovers per game (2.50) while Estabrook is tied for fifth in the conference (2.17) … Wheeler is fourth in the conference in groundballs per game (3.83) and leads the team with 23 while Estabrook is fifth in the conference in groundballs per game (3.67) and second on the team with 22.
