UTICA, NY – The Utica College women's lacrosse team hosts Skidmore College on Wednesday at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium. Wednesday's game marks just the second time in program-history that UC has opened a season with three consecutive home games. The first draw control is scheduled for 5 p.m.
 
Last Time Out: The Pioneers wrapped up the American Heart Association Tournament on Sunday with a 1-1 overall record in the three day season opening tournament at Gaetano Stadium … UC fell to Buffalo State 17-11 on Friday afternoon and came back with a 9-4 win over Albright College on Sunday afternoon. 
 
Leading The Way: Utica has nine players with at least one point and has three players with four or more points … Junior Rebecca Plunkett (Kings Park, NY/Kings Park) leads the team and ranks second in the Empire 8 Conference with eight goals through two games … Senior Courtney Wheeler (Ava, NY/Rome Free Academy) is second on the team with five points off of three goals and two assists while freshman Katlyn Scarpinella (South Setauket, NY/Ward Melville) is third on the team with four points off of three goals and one assist.
 
Helping Out: Freshman Mary Stuhlman (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro), senior Colleen Dowling (Fairport, NY/Fairport), and sophomore Brooke Miller (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) all have three points on the season … Stuhlman has two goals and one assist, Dowling has one goal and two assists, and Miller has three assists … Amanda Chruscicki (Utica, NY/Whitesboro) has two goals while Natalie Capriglione (New Milford, CT/New Milford Greenwave) netted her first collegiate goal Sunday and Tewasherake Barnes (Akwesasne, NY/Salmon River) has one assist so far this season.
 
In The Net: Erin Jacobson (Staten Island, NY/Curtis) and Kells Casey (Sandwich, MA/Kimball Union Academy) have each played in one game this year … Jacobson started game one while Casey started game two … Casey ranks third in the conference in save percentage (.636), and is fourth in the conference in goals against average (4.00) and saves per game (7.00).
 
Scouting Skidmore: The Thoroughbreds are 1-1 overall so far this season … Skidmore defeated Hartwick College 14-4 in the season opener and lost to Babson College 11-10 on Saturday March 5^th … The Thoroughbreds are led by Tyler Phillips (11 points off of nine goals and two assists) and Cas Szwajkowski (seven points off of seven goals) … In net for Skidmore is Megan Kolopsky (1-1 record, 15 saves, .500 save percentage, 15 goals against, and a 7.83 goals against average).
 
Against The Thoroughbreds: Utica is 2-2 over the last four meetings against Skidmore including a 1-1 record at home and a 1-1 record on the road… The Thoroughbreds won last year's match up 10-7 over Utica … UC won the matchup in 2014 (7-5) and in 2013 (11-7) … Skidmore defeated the Pioneers in 2012, 9-6.
