UTICA, NY – The Utica College men's tennis team fell 7-2 to Empire 8 Conference opponent Nazareth on Sunday afternoon.
Kevin Vo (Utica, NY/Proctor) (6-4,2-6,10-6) and
Matt Rogers (East Syracuse, NY/Bishop Ludden) (7-5,7-6) led the Pioneers each winning their singles match.
Paul Litvak (Brooklyn, NY/Abraham Lincoln) won five games in two sets but fell 6-2 and 6-3 while
Jacob Nigolian (Syracuse, NY/Westhill) won two games in two sets (6-1,6-1).
Raphael Warnon (Rock Tavern, NY/Washingtonville) was able to win one game in his singles match (6-0,6-1). The team of Rogers and Nigolian won six games in their doubles competition but fell 8-6. Vo and Warnon won three games (8-3) while the team of
Patrick Doan (New Hartford, NY/New Hartford) and Litvak fell 8-0.
The Pioneers return to action Wednesday when they travel to the Sage Colleges for non-conference action. The match is scheduled for 4 p.m.
