UTICA, NY- The Utica College baseball team dropped both games of the Empire 8 Conference doubleheader against St. John Fisher on Sunday. Utica fell 14-2 in the first game while losing 14-6 in the second game. St. John Fisher improved to 16-6 overall with a 5-0 conference record while Utica now has a 2-14 overall record with a 2-6 conference record. The Pioneers return to action Wednesday when they host conference opponent Stevens at 4 p.m.
St. John Fisher 14, Utica 2-Game One
JT Ross (New York Mills, NY/New York Mills) led the Utica offense with two hits and one RBI.
William Winsman (Palatine Bridge, NY/Canajoharie) got the start for UC and went three innings giving up five runs (four earned) and striking out one.
Alex Rocci (Utica, NY/Notre Dame) pitched two innings giving up four earned runs while
Gavin McCann (Highland, NY/Highland) pitched two innings giving up five runs (two earned).
Terry Engels pitched six innings for the Cardinals giving up two earned runs and striking out nine. Erin Moskal pitched one inning allowing no hits to end the game. Cody Wiktorski led the offense with three hits and four RBI.
Utica scored one run in each of the first two innings to take a 2-0 lead. After that it was all Fisher as the Cardinals put up 14 unanswered runs to take the game.

St. John Fisher 14, Utica 6-Game Two
Ed Zakrzewski (Rome, NY/Rome Catholic) got the start for UC and went four innings giving up nine runs (seven earned) while
Ethan Bliss (Cooperstown, NY /Cooperstown) pitched three innings giving up four earned runs.
Dom Caccioppoli (Circleville, NY/Pine Bush ) pitched one inning giving up two runs (one earned) and
James Corcoran (Mechanicville, NY/Mechanicville) also pitched one inning to end the game.
Tim Quinlan (Monroe, CT/Masuck) led the team with three hits and three RBI.
Marc Iseneker went five innings for the Cardinals giving up six runs (three earned) while Ryan Felske went one inning, Kevin Berge went two innings, and Kyle Chambers went one inning. Scott Eisenmenger led the Cardinals offense with two hits and four RBI.
St. John Fisher jumped ahead in the first two innings scoring four runs in the first inning and two in the second inning to take a 6-0 lead. Utica struck back in the third inning scoring four runs to make it a 6-4 game. The Cardinals took advantage of a three run fourth and a two run fifth to take a 11-4 lead. Utica would make it a 11-6 game when Quinlan doubled home two runs. Fisher would add two insurance runs in the seventh and one in the eighth to seal the game.
