UTICA, NY – The Utica College men's tennis team hits the road for two Empire 8 Conference matchups this weekend. On Saturday Utica takes on Alfred at 1 p.m. while on Sunday UC takes on Ithaca at 12 p.m.
 
Last Time Out: Utica fell 6-3 against non-conference opponent Oswego on Wednesday … Matt Rogers (East Syracuse, NY/Bishop Ludden) led the team with a singles victory and teamed up with Jacob Nigolian (Syracuse, NY/Westhill) for a doubles victory … Kevin Vo (Utica, NY/Proctor) also won his singles match against the Lakers.
 
Players To Watch: Rogers leads the team with five singles victories in eight matches while Vo has five singles victories as well … In doubles the team of Rogers and Nigolian lead the way with two wins while Vo and Raphael Warnon (Rock Tavern, NY/Washingtonville) have one win and Paul Litvak (Brooklyn, NY/Abraham Lincoln) and Franklin Guebara (Utica, NY/Proctor) have one win.
 
Scouting Alfred: The Saxons are 4-12 overall with a 1-3 conference record … Alfred is currently on a two match losing streak losing 9-0 to Ithaca and 5-4 to Elmira and takes on Nazareth on Friday … The Saxons are led by Connor Doud (13-3) in singles and Matt Baloga and Connor Doud (9-5) in doubles.
 
Scouting Ithaca: The Bombers are 8-5 overall with a 5-1 conference record … Ithaca is on a four match winning streak with 9-0 wins over Nazareth, Alfred, Houghton, and Hartwick.
 
Looking Ahead: The Pioneers close out the season on the road against Empire 8 opponent Stevens on Saturday April 30 … The match is scheduled for 2 p.m.
