ITHACA, NY – The Utica College men's tennis team fell 8-1 to Empire 8 Conference opponent Ithaca on Sunday.
Matt Rogers (East Syracuse, NY/Bishop Ludden) led the team with a 6-4,6-4 singles victory in two straight sets. Utica is now 1-9 overall with a 0-7 conference record while Ithaca improves to 10-5 overall with a 6-1 conference record.
Raphael Warnon (Rock Tavern, NY/Washingtonville) won five games (1-6,4-6) while
Kevin Vo (Utica, NY/Proctor) won four games in two sets (1-6,3-6).
Franklin Guebara (Utica, NY/Proctor) won one game in his singles competition falling 0-6 and 1-6. In doubles play the team of Vo and Warnon fell 4-8 while Rogers and
Jacob Nigolian (Syracuse, NY/Westhill) fell 3-8. The team of Geubara and
Paul Litvak (Brooklyn, NY/Abraham Lincoln) took one game in doubles falling 1-8.
The Pioneers return to action on Saturday when they travel to conference opponent Stevens for the final regular season match. The match is scheduled for 2 p.m.
