UTICA, NY – The Utica College men's tennis team hosts two Empire 8 Conference opponents this weekend. On Saturday the Pioneers face St. John Fisher while on Sunday UC takes on Nazareth College. The match on Saturday is scheduled for 1 p.m. while the match on Sunday is scheduled for 1 p.m. as well.
 
Last Time Out: Utica fell to host Oswego 8-1 in non-conference action on Wednesday … Senior Matt Rogers (East Syracuse, NY/Bishop Ludden) earned a singles victory beating Ryan Korn 6-4, 6-4 in consecutive sets … The Pioneers are now 0-3 overall with a 0-2 conference record while Oswego improves to 7-2.
 
Standout Players: Kevin Vo (Utica, NY/Proctor) and Rogers are the only two players to win in singles play so far this year … Vo has won 22 games over three matches this year while Raphael Warnon (Rock Tavern, NY/Washingtonville) has won 15 games over three singles matches … Rogers leads the team with 24 games won in three singles matches.
 
Scouting Nazareth: The Golden Flyers are 2-7 overall with a 1-0 conference record … Nazareth is coming off of a 5-4 victory over conference opponent Elmira … The Golden Flyers are led by Tyler Williams and Lamar Hurt in both singles and doubles action.
 
Scouting St. John Fisher: The Cardinals are 4-5 overall with a 0-1 conference record … Fisher is coming off of a 7-2 loss at the hands of conference opponent Ithaca College … The Cardinals are led by Adam Moran, Jarrett Pelton, and Kevin Kulawiec in singles action and Kulawiec and Quinn Magiera in doubles action.
 
Against This Weekends Opponents: Utica is looking for its first victory over Nazareth as well as its first victory over St. John Fisher this weekend.
