Utica, NY – The Utica College men's soccer team hits the road on Wednesday night when it travels to Skidmore College to take on the Thoroughbreds in non-conference action at 7 p.m.

Utica College Invitational: All four participating teams at the UC Invitational at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium last weekend wrapped up the tournament with a 1-1 record … Utica dropped its first game of the tournament to Maritime, 2-1, in overtime … The Pioneers came back with a convincing 4-2 win over Baruch College on Sunday … Skidmore went 1-1 at the UC tournament with a 1-0 loss to Baruch on Saturday and a 4-0 win over Maritime on Sunday. 

Series History: The Pioneers are 2-1-1 in the last six years against Skidmore, with all four games being decided by one goal or less … It took two overtimes for Skidmore to defeat Utica in 2015, as the Thoroughbreds earned a 2-1 win at Gaetano Stadium on October 13^th of last season … Utica tied Skidmore in 2014, 2-2, while beating the Thoroughbreds 1-0 in 2011 and 3-2 in overtime in 2010.

Back on Track: The Pioneers snapped a three game skid to start the season on Sunday when they defeated Baruch, 4-2 … UC is currently 1-3 overall, a record that includes a 2-1 overtime loss at the hands of Maritime on Saturday night … Last season the Pioneers started the year with an 0-3 record but went on to win three of its next four games to hold a 3-4 record headed into Empire 8 Conference play.

Spreading the Wealth: Utica has six different players with at least one point this season … Bita Gazashvili (Tiblisi, Georgia), Marcel Dupuis (Hannacroix, NY/Greenville) and Owen Gillam (Bristol, CT/Bristol) lead the way with one goal and one assist each … Joseph Hunter (Plymouth Meeting, PA/Plymouth-Whitemarsh) and Thomas Muller (Camillus, NY/Bishop Ludden) each have one goal, while Julian Fonseca (Rocky Hill, CT/Bridgton) has one assist.

First Collegiate Goal: Freshman Thomas Muller (Camillus, NY/Bishop Ludden) and senior Joseph Hunter (Plymouth Meeting, PA/Plymouth-Whitemarsh) each registered their first collegiate goals in the Pioneers win over Baruch on Sunday … Hunter's goal proved to be the game-winner. 

Save Leader: Utica' Matthew Milograno (Marcy, NY/Whitesboro) leads the Empire 8 Conference with an average of 5.75 saves per contest … He has faced 68 shots this season and has a 2.73 goals against average.

Making His Way Back: After a quiet start to the season, Utica junior Bita Gazashvili (Tiblisi, Georgia) found the back of the net and earned an assist in Sunday's win over Baruch …  He now ranks sixth all-time with 13 career assists and needs nine more assists in his final two seasons to tie the school-record of 22 which is currently held by Evan Dufault '07 … Gazashvili now has 29 career points and moved into the top 10 on the College's all-time points list after his three point performance over the weekend.  

Meet Skidmore: The Thoroughbreds are currently 1-2 overall after earning their first victory of the season on Sunday against Maritime … Kevin Santos leads Skidmore with five points (one goal, three assists) … Austyin Okoye has a team-best two goals.
