Utica, NY- The Utica College volleyball team looks to keep its momentum going as it travels to Plattsburgh this Friday and Saturday to compete in the Plattsburgh Invitational.

LAST TIME OUT: The Pioneers are coming of off a big win on Tuesday as they defeated Southern Vermont College 3-0… Utica led Southern Vermont in all statistical categories including aces (11-5), kills (30-14), digs (38-28), and the Pioneers dominated at the net, racking up 11 blocks, while the Mountaineers did not record a single one.

BIG D: Sophomore
Nicole Herringshaw (Syracuse, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse) has been dominant at the net… Against Southern Vermont, she had a career-high eight blocks… On the season, she leads the team with 34 blocks and she ranks second in the Empire 8 with .94 blocks per set… Classmate
Leah Octave (New Windsor, NY/Cornwall) leads the team and is fourth in the conference with 130 digs.

ON THE ATTACK: Senior
Brandi Blaszak (Marcy, NY/Whitesboro) leads the team with 81 kills and 98.5 points… Sophomore
Hannah Voss (St. Louis, MO/Oakville) is second on the squad with 68 kills and she is also tied for the team lead in aces (13) with Octave and freshman
Megan Weiss (Windsor, CT/Northwest Catholic)… Weiss and Voss lead the team in assists with 117 and 111, respectively.

PLATTSBURGH INVITATIONAL: Utica will face three teams this weekend… First, UC will square off against Southern Vermont on Friday (7 p.m.) in a rematch of Tuesday's contest… The Pioneers will then take on Plattsburgh State and Elms College at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. respectively… Plattsburgh is 4-5 on the season, while Elms is 1-6.Â

LOOKING AHEAD: UC will open up Empire 8 Conference play on the road on Tuesday as it takes on Hartwick College… Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
