Marcel Dupuis (Hannacroix, NY/Greenville) just 8:37 into the contest, but Wells answered with goals at 51:53 and 87:22 to earn the come from behind victory.
The Pioneers (1-8, 0-2 Empire 8) return to action on Saturday when they host Ithaca College for an Empire 8 Conference matchup at 1 p.m. Wells improved to 4-2-2 overall on the season.
The Express trailed 1-0 at the half after Dupuis' first half goal gave the Pioneers a one goal cushion early in the contest. Wells answered with a goal from Carlos Valdivieso at 51:52 and the game-winner off a direct kick from the foot of Banjamin Schanbacher with 2:38 remaining to earn the 2-1 victory.
Utica outshot the home team 19-16 on the evening, but the Express earned a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks.
