UTICA, NY- The Utica College field hockey team ran into a tough test Wednesday as it fell to visiting Hamilton College 7-0 in non-conference action.

The Continentals, who are fresh off a win over No. 3 Middlebury College last weekend, used three goals in the first half and added four more in the second to pick up their fourth win of the season. Michaela Giuttari led the way for Hamilton as she netted two goals and added two assists.Â

Fiona Shea (East Greenbush, NY/East Greenbush) led the Pioneers with four shots on goal, while sophomore
Rylee Meelan (Clinton, NY/Clinton) fired three shots on net. Junior
Samantha Whitehouse (Greenwich, NY/Greenwich) made ten saves in net for Utica. She has now recorded 10 or more saves in six games this season. Hamilton's Julia Booth made nine saves in the shutout.Â

The Pioneers return to conference play this weekend as they travel to Washington, PA for a match up against Washington & Jefferson College. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
