MARCY, NY- The Utica College volleyball team fell in straight sets to cross town rival and host, SUNY Poly in non-conference action Wednesday evening.

Brandi Blaszak (Marcy, NY/Whitesboro) led the Pioneers with eight kills on the night. She is now just four kills away from tying the College's career record. Sophomore
Nicole Herringshaw (Syracuse, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse) was a force at the net as she totaled seven kills and added a team-high two blocks.Â

Leah Octave (New Windsor, NY/Cornwall) was once again the leader on defense as she totaled a team-best 13 digs on the evening. Classmate
Hannah Voss (St. Louis, MO/Oakville) led the squad with 14 assists, and she also chipped in with seven digs and four kills.Â

The Pioneers return to action this weekend as they travel to the University of Rochester Tournament for a four-game set. Â UC will open play at 6 p.m. on Friday against Beloit College.
