Ashley Mayo (Nanuet, NY/Nanuet) led Utica with 13 points, including 2-of-5 shooting from beyond the arc, and sinking 5-of-6 free throws… Classmate
Ashelyne Babb (Lynn, MA/Winthrop) finished the night with seven points and a team-high six rebounds, while junior
Alaina Tripp (Clyde, NY/Clyde-Savannah) had eight points and four boards...
Rachel Hunter (West Islip, NY/West Islip),
Marissa Woods (Westampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley), and
Coralynn Maxwell (Newport, NY/West Canada Valley) each netted six points on the evening, with Maxwell adding a career-high six steals.
DOUBLE TROUBLE: Juniors
Ashley Mayo (Nanuet, NY/Nanuet) and
Ashelyne Babb (Lynn, MA/Winthrop) lead the team with 12.3 points per game apiece… Mayo has a team-high 10 three-pointers, while Babb leads the squad in rebounds per game (6.5) and assists per game (3.8)… The duo has also combined for 45 steals this season… Babb and Mayo are the only active players with over 500 career points.
HELPING OUT: Sophomore
Rachel Hunter (West Islip, NY/West Islip) is third on the team with 9.0 points per game, followed by junior
Alaina Tripp (Clyde, NY/Clyde-Savannah), who is averaging 5.9 points per game… Hunter has also grabbed 3.6 boards per game, while Tripp leads the team with four blocks.
FRESHMEN STEPPING UP: First year players
Nicolette Conkin (Los Altos, CA/Homestead),
Coralynn Maxwell (Newport, NY/West Canada Valley), and
Marissa Woods (Westampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley) have found their stride for Utica… Despite coming off the bench in the first four games, Conkin has filled in as a starter for the last six contests… Over that span, she has racked up 33 points and added 29 rebounds… Maxwell had a career-high six points and six steals on Tuesday, while Woods also netted a career-best six points on the evening.
SCOUTING HARTWICK: The Hawks are currently 4-5 overall and 1-0 in Empire 8 play… They are coming off a 57-35 victory over Elmira on Tuesday night… Three players are averaging over 10 points a game, led by senior Emily Stone, who has 13.5 points per game… Classmate Jacqui Foreman is averaging 13.1 points and a team-high 9.6 rebounds per game.
