UTICA, NY- The Utica College women's basketball team wraps-up its three game Empire 8 home stand Tuesday, as it takes on Alfred University… Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
 
Last Time Out: The Pioneers fell to Hartwick College 62-52 in conference action on Thursday… Utica junior Ashley Mayo (Nanuet, NY/Nanuet) recorded a team-high 15 points against the Hawks… Junior Ashelyne Babb (Lynn, MA/Winthrop) recorded a career-high 10 assists and eight points in the game… The Pioneers are now 2-9 overall and 0-2 in the Empire 8 Conference. 
 
Top Performing Juniors: Mayo has averaged a team-high 12.5 points per game… She has also netted a team-high 12 three-pointers this season… Babb is not too far behind Mayo, as she is averaging 11.9 points per game… Babb also leads the conference with 4.4 assists and 3.1 steals per game. 
 
Outstanding Freshman: Nicolette Conkin (Los Altos, CA/Homestead) is the team's top performing freshman so far this season… She leads the freshman class in points scored (5.4 points per game) and is 11-of-33 from three-point range (.333 percentage).
 
Utica Excelling in Turnovers and Steals: The Pioneers are ranked second in the Empire 8 in the turnover margin (2.55 margin)… They are also ranked second in the conference in steals with 11 per game.
 
Scouting Alfred:  The Saxons are 2-10 overall and 0-3 in the Empire 8… Amanda Off has been a big help to the Saxons this season, as she has averaged 14.9 points per game… Jamie Wilcox is also having a good year as she is averaging 11.7 points per game and she has made a team-best eight three-pointers this season. 
 
Against the Saxons: The Pioneers are 9-1 against Alfred in the last five years… Last year, Utica defeated Alfred 80-50 on the road and 75-59 at home… Ashley Mayo (Nanuet, NY/Nanuet) and Ashelyne Babb (Lynn, MA/Winthrop) combined for 36 points in UC's home win over Alfred. 
 
Looking Ahead: Up next, the Pioneers will hit the road to take on Nazareth on Thursday (6 p.m.) and Elmira College on Saturday (2 p.m.).
