UC Drops Double OT Heartbreaker at Hamilton

Box Score CLINTON, NY – The Utica College men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 double overtime heartbreaker on Wednesday night as the Pioneers visited Hamilton College's Love Field for non-conference action. Hamilton's Aidan Wood netted the game winner in double-overtime (106:42) of an assist from Jefri Schmidt to help the Continentals improve to 5-4-2 overall on the season.

Utica's Jonathan Side (Plattsburgh, NY/Plattsburgh) had another impressive night in goal for the Pioneers as he stopped 11 shots, marking the second-highest save output of his young career.

Utica's record moved to 6-9 overall and the Pioneers will return to action on the road Saturday when they travel to The Sage College to take on the Gators in Empire 8 Conference action at 4 p.m.

Side was particularly effective in overtime as the Pioneers went a man-down towards the end of regulation and Hamilton began to put heavy pressure on the Utica defense. Six of Side's 11 saves on the afternoon came in overtime.
