Utica, NY – The Utica College women's soccer team faced off against Hamilton College at home, Wednesday night. The Continentals walked away with a 1-0 victory, pushing UC's record down to 4-7-1 overall this season.
Hamilton took an early lead, as Katie Kreider finished off an opportunity, just before the 12 minute mark. The Pioneers were outshot 10-4 in the first half, entering the locker room down 1-0.
The visitors controlled the ball for the majority of the second half, firing 13 shots compared to UC's 3. Neither team was able to tally a score in the final half of play, with the score remaining 1-0 as the final buzzer sounded.
Goalkeeper
Allison Wagner (Canandaigua, NY/Canandaigua Academy) made nine saves in just the second half, to give her a total of 14 stops on the night. Hamilton's Rachel Pike made four saves for the team, on her way to earning the shutout.
The Pioneers return to action on Saturday, as they travel to Elmira for an Empire 8 contest. The game is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.
