UTICA, NY- The Utica College field hockey team wraps up the regular season Saturday as it travels to Union College for a non-conference match up. Game time is scheduled for 12 p.m.

Sabrina Whitehouse (Greenwich, NY/Greenwich) scored the other goal for UC…
Samantha Whitehouse (Greenwich, NY/Greenwich) made 11 saves in net.
PLAYOFF PICTURE: The Pioneers (8-8, 4-3 Empire 8) have clinched a spot in the 2017 Empire 8 Conference Tournament, hosted by Washington & Jefferson next weekend… Utica will earn either the No. 3 or No. 4 seed in the tournament… The Pioneers will have to wait and see who they will take on in the semifinals next Friday… Game time is TBD.
LEADING THE WAY: Junior
Rylee Meelan (Clinton, NY/Clinton) leads the team in goals (nine), assists (four), and points (24), all of which are career highs for the forward… She has scored six points (two goals, two assists) in the last two games… Utica is 5-3 this season when Meelan scores at least one goal.
SCACCIA HONORED: On Wednesday, freshman
Sydney Scaccia (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) was named the ECAC North Rookie of the Week for her performance last week… Scaccia, who was also named the Empire 8 Player of the Week, scored four goals to help Utica go 1-1 last week... Last Wednesday, she had a goal as UC fell to Geneseo 4-2… She followed that up with three goals in 1:38 to help the Pioneers to a 5-1 win over Brockport on Saturday... She now ranks third on the team in goals (five) and points (11).
BALANCED ATTACK: 11 different players have found the back of the net at least once this season… Freshman
Sabrina Whitehouse (Greenwich, NY/Greenwich) ranks second on the squad with seven goals and 17 points… She is just the second player in the last six years to score at least 17 points as a freshman… Senior
Melissa Koch (Syracuse, NY/East Syracuse Minoa) is second on the team with five assists and she ranks fourth with nine points.
SCOUTING UNION: The Dutchwomen are 8-8 overall and 2-5 in the Liberty League… They are coming off a 4-1 win over Morrisville on Wednesday… Union is led by Charlotte Leyland and Alexa Puleio, who each have 11 points… This will be the first meeting between the two teams since 2011, when Utica won 2-1.
