NORTH ADAMS, MA- Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts scored the go-ahead basket with 11 seconds remaining to top the Utica College women's basketball team 53-52 in non-conference action Wednesday evening.

There were four lead changes over the final 1:07 of play before the Trailblazers were able to take the lead for good in the final ticks. The Pioneers had one last chance at the victory as they had the ball in the offensive side of the court with three second left.  UC was unable to connect the final pass and suffered the heartbreaking defeat.

Ashley Mayo (Bronx, NY/Nanuet) led the Pioneers with 12 points and added four rebounds, while classmates
Alaina Tripp (Clyde, NY/Clyde-Savannah) and
Ashelyne Babb (Lynn, MA/Winthrop) combined for 15 points. Freshman
Kimberly Soriano (Queens, NY/Monsignor McClancey Memorial) totaled six points off the bench as she shot 2-for-3 from behind the arc and she also grabbed a team-high six boards.Â

The Pioneers (2-3) will look to bounce back Saturday as they host Misericordia University in Utica's 6
th annual "Game for Brooks Miles". Game time is scheduled for 2 p.m.
