Utica, NY – The Utica College women's lacrosse team is on the road Saturday to battle Elmira College. This Empire 8 Conference matchup is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m.
 
Last Time Out: The Pioneers defeated Morrisville State at home in their last game, 16-7 … Brooke Miller (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) and Rebecca Plunkett (Kings Park, NY/Kings Park) both scored four goals in route to the nine-goal victory … Katlyn Scarpinella (South Setauket, NY/Ward Melville) finished with three goals and one assist in the contest, while Colleen Dowling (Fairport, NY/Fairport) added three assists to the cause … On defense, Maggie Notter (Clifton Springs, NY/Midlakes) tallied team-highs of eight ground balls and six caused turnovers … Goalkeeper Hali Vandermeulen (Walden, NY/Valley Central) made five saves on her way to earning the win … The win over Morrisville improved UC's record to 4-3 so far this season.
 
Winning Streak: After UC's most recent win over Morrisville, the team has earned a three game win-streak … The team started the streak with an 18-6 win over Cazenovia on the road, where Brooke Miller (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) recorded seven goals … The second win during this period came against Empire 8 opponent Houghton College … The Pioneers defeated the Highlanders, 17-7, behind Rebecca Plunkett (Kings Park, NY/Kings Park)'s five goals … The team will put its winning streak on the line against Elmira this Saturday.
 
Scouting Elmira: The Elmira Soaring Eagles currently hold a record of 0-5 overall and 0-1 in the Empire 8 this season … In the team's last contest, Elmira was defeated by #10 Ithaca College, 18-0 … Hayley Baker leads the team with 11 total points this season, on six goals and a team-high five assists … Rachael Goetz leads the Soaring Eagles in goals, as she has tallied seven so far this year.
