Houghton, NY – The Utica College men's tennis team faced Houghton College on the road Saturday. The Pioneers were defeated 9-0, not winning a single match on the day.
 
UC's record now drops to 1-7 overall and 0-5 in E8 competition this season. Houghton's record improves to 10-5 overall and are now 3-3 in conference play.
 
In the first singles match, Garrett Noake (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) lost 6-0 and 6-1 to Houghton's Zach Shilvock. Christa Pham lost to Daniel Hammers, by scores of 6-1 and 6-0 in the fifth singles match.
 
In the first doubles contest, Noake and Paul Litvak (Brooklyn, NY/Abraham Lincoln) lost to Jordan Scott and Jake Fisler by a score of 8-1.

The Pioneers will return to action on Tuesday, as the team will host Ithaca College for another Empire 8 matchup. The match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
