ELMIRA, NY- The Utica College women's hockey team fell to UCHC rival and nationally ranked No. 1 Elmira College 5-0 in conference action Friday evening.

With the loss, the Pioneers drop to 7-6 overall (3-2 UCHC), while the Soaring Eagles improve to 12-2 and remain unbeaten in the conference with a 7-0 mark in league play. The teams wrap up the season series Saturday in Utica. Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m.Â

Elmira used one goal in each of the first two periods before pulling away in the third period with three scores. The home team was 2-for-5 on the powerplay, while Utica went 0-for-3 with the man advantage.Â

Bria Reilly (Hamden, CT/Brewster Academy) and freshman
Ryann Stripp (Holland Patent, NY/Clinton Warriors) combined for 33 saves in net, while Kelcey Crawford made 13 saves for the Soaring Eagles.
