THINK PINK: Tuesday's game will serve as Utica's annual breast cancer awareness game… Throughout the month of October various UC teams, together with Utica's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), will don pink uniforms or practice shirts to raise awareness for breast cancer and support those who are fighting… During Tuesday's game, the Pioneers will be holding a 50/50 raffle and collecting donations with all proceeds going to the Utica College chapter of College's Against Cancer… Additionally, fans can purchase UC themed breast cancer awareness shirts for $5 in the concourse.
LEADING THE WAY: Senior
Rylee Meelan (Clinton, NY/Clinton) leads the Empire 8 with 10 goals and she is also tied for the conference-lead with 23 points on the season… Meelan is currently seventh all-time in career points at UC and she needs just seven more to move into a tie for sixth place… She also needs just two more goals to reach her career-high of 12, which she accomplished last season.
HEATING UP: After being held scoreless in her first five contests, sophomore
Sydney Scaccia (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) has totaled eight points (three goals, two assists) in her last four games… Scaccia need three more goals and just five more points to match her scoring output from last season.
SHUTTING THE DOOR: Senior
Madison Babicz (New Hartford, NY/New Hartford) and sophomore
Jenny Robbins (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) are tied for fourth in the conference with two defensive saves each… Freshman
Megan Chamberlain (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury) ranks third in the E8 with 65 saves and she is averaging 7.22 saves per game.
SCOUTING RPI: The Engineers are 1-7 overall (1-1 Liberty League) and they are coming off a 3-2 win over St. Lawrence on Saturday… RPI is led by senior Mikaela DiBello, who has five goals through eight games.
AGAINST THE ENGINEERS: Utica is 8-9 all-time against RPI… Last year, the Engineers came away with a 6-2 victory…
Sabrina Whitehouse (Greenwich, NY/Greenwich) and
Rylee Meelan (Clinton, NY/Clinton) each scored for UC… The last time the Pioneers defeated RPI was Oct. 25, 2014, when UC won 3-0.
