LAST TIME OUT: The Pioneers are coming off a convincing 7-1 win over Elmira on Saturday… Five different players scored for UC on the day, including

PLAYOFF PICTURE: Utica is currently tied for fifth in the Empire 8 Conference standings, but the Pioneers are still very much in the playoff picture… UC controls its own destiny as its final two games are against teams either tied, or just ahead in the conference standings… With a pair of wins, the Pioneers will lock up a spot in the E8 Tournament.
SWEEPING THE E8 AWARDS: It was a clean sweep for Utica as the Pioneers took home both the Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards for the conference on Monday… Senior
Rylee Meelan (Clinton, NY/Clinton) was named the Offensive Player of the Week, while freshman
Megan Chamberlain (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury) was named the Defensive Player of the Week… Meelan had five goals in two matches last week, including a hat trick against Skidmore and a pair of goals against Elmira… Chamberlain meanwhile stopped nine of ten shots she faced in the 4-1 win over Skidmore on Wednesday.
NEARING 100: Senior

HELPING OUT: Utica has two other players with at least ten points on the season… Sophomore
Sabrina Whitehouse (Greenwich, NY/Greenwich) is second on the squad with 12 points, including a team-high six assists… Classmate

SCOUTING HARTWICK: The Hawks are 11-4 overall and they sit right in front of Utica with a 4-2 mark in the Empire 8 standings… Hartwick has seven players with at least 10 points on the season, led by freshman Perry Willett, who has a team-high 11 goals, six assists, and 28 points.
AGAINST THE HAWKS: Utica is 4-1 against the Hawks in the last five years, but the last three meetings have been decided by just one goal… Last year, Hartwick topped the Pioneers 2-1 in overtime…
