UTICA, NY- The Utica College volleyball team travels to Hoboken, NJ on Saturday for an Empire 8 Conference pod against Houghton College and Stevens Institute of Technology.  The Pioneers will face Houghton at 1:30 p.m. before wrapping up the day against Stevens at 4 p.m.
 
LAST TIME OUT: Utica is coming off a 3-0 loss to St. John Fisher College on Wednesday evening…  Meaghan Romaguera (Stone Ridge, NY/Rondout) led Utica with 11 kills, followed by Nicole Herringshaw (Syracuse, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse) with six, and Miranda Stockbridge (Waterville, NY/Waterville) with four… Herringshaw also had a team-high five blocks, while Marissa Faroni (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) had 12 assists… Hannah Voss (St. Louis, MO/Oakville) picked up a team-high 19 sigs, while freshman Casey Sims (Schenectady, NY/Niskayuna) chipped in with 13.
 
MOVIN' ON UP: Senior Nicole Herringshaw (Syracuse, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse) leads the team with 143 kills… She is currently tied for fourth place on the College's all-time list with 728 kills in her career… Herringshaw also moved into third place all-time with 283 career blocks… Classmate Hannah Voss (St. Louis, MO/Oakville) became just the fifth player in program history to record over 1,000 digs in her career… Voss is currently fourth all-time with 1,103 digs and she leads the squad with year with 185 digs.  
 
MAY I ASSIST YOU?: Senior Marissa Faroni (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) leads the Pioneers with 152 assists and she also is tied for the team-lead with 10 service aces… Faroni is second on the squad with 128 digs on the year.
 
SCOUTING HOUGHTON: The Highlanders are 6-12 overall and 2-2 in the Empire 8… They are coming off a 3-0 win over D'Youville on Thursday… Houghton has four players with over 100 kills on the season, led by senior Amber Edwards, who has 211 kills… Utica is 0-5 against Houghton in the last five years… Last year, UC fell 3-0 to the Highlanders. 
 
SCOUTING STEVENS: The Ducks are 15-3 overall (3-0 Empire 8) and they are currently undefeated at home… Stevens is coming off a 3-0 win over Hartwick last Friday… Stevens also has four players with over 100 kills on the season, led by Taleen Mitchell, who has 190 kills, while Shelby Stewart has 56 blocks… Utica is 0-5 against Stevens in the last five years. 
 
LOOKING AHEAD: The Pioneers will travel to Cambridge, MA next weekend for the MIT Invitational… UC will face Hunter College on Friday at 6 p.m. and cap off the weekend on Saturday against MIT (10:30 a.m.) and Kings College (1 p.m.).
