MORRISVILLE, NY- The Utica College women's hockey team had its nine-game winning streak snapped Tuesday as it fell to host Morrisville State 4-2 in non-conference action.  Senior Elizabeth Dohner (Highlands Ranch, CO/Colorado Selects) scored both goals for Utica.
 
With the loss, the Pioneers fall to 9-1 on the season, snapping the longest winning streak in program history.  UC will look to rebound on Saturday, Dec. 8 as it hosts Middlebury College.  Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
 
Morrisville pulled away with a three-goal first period to put Utica on its toes.  Mackenzie Lombardi scored two goals for the Mustangs, while leading scorer Jessica Ujcik was credited with the other tally.
 
The Mustangs added a fourth goal at 13:59 of the second period as Lombardi completed the hat trick to give the Mustangs a commanding 4-0 lead.
 
Utica did not quit, however, as the Pioneers finally got on the board just 25 seconds into the third frame as Dohner hooked up with freshman Georgiana Santullo (Woburn, MA/Boston Shamrocks/Woburn High School) and Lexi Stanisewski (Lawrence, MA/Boston Shamrocks) for her fifth of the year.
 
Dohner made things interesting when she found the back of the net again at 14:08 to bring the Pioneers within two.  Santullo assisted on the power play tally.
 
It was too little, too late however, as Morrisville hung on to pick up its seventh win of the season.
 
Utica's starter, Gabrielle Igo (Phoenix, AZ/Northern Cyclones) made seven saves before junior Bria Reilly (Hamden, CT/Brewster Academy) came on in relief.  Reilly totaled nine saves in just over 40 minutes of work for UC, while Karoline Arvik turned aside 20 shots for the home team.
