Pittsford, NY – Senior
Ryan Desveaux (Bowmanville, ONT/St. Stephen Catholic) became the fourth player in program-history to reach 100 career goals as the Utica College men's lacrosse team dropped a 21-12 decision in Empire 8 Conference play against St. John Fisher College on Saturday.
Desveaux finished the day with a team-high six goals and he also added two assists. His 40 goals this season are now tied for seventh on the College's all-time single season list. He now has 104 career goals and 128 career points (both fourth on the College's all-time list).
Prior to the opening faceoff, both teams gathered at mid-field in support for the Go4theGoalcampaign that helps raise awareness for pediatric cancer. Both teams have raised thousands of dollars this season and greatly appreciate all the support. Utica's record dropped to 6-6 overall and 2-2 in Empire 8 play headed into their final three conference games of the regular season. UC will travel to Hartwick on Wednesday for its final road game of the season.
Senior
Nick Yelich (Lancaster, NY/Depew) finished the day with five points on two goals and three assists. He now has 34 points this season, a new career-high. Six other Pioneers registered at least one point on the afternoon, including

Dylan Dunham (Elbridge, NY/Jordan Elbridge),
John Hanlon (Coconut Creek, FL/St. John Paul Academy),
Jake Bratek (Syracuse, NY/Jamesville-Dewitt),
Austin Forte (Central Square, NY/Central Square) and
Zach Duby (Jamesville, NY/Jamesville-Dewitt).
Jimmy Vienneau (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) picked up a team-high five ground balls, while Foresti,
Nick Alexander (New Hartford, NY/New Hartford), and Desveaux each added three of their own.
Ryan Boshart (Fayetteville, NY/Fayetteville-Manlius) made four saves in net before being relieved by
Harrison Bower (Northport, NY/Kings Park), who finished the game with eight saves.
Fisher jumped out to a 3-0 lead before the Pioneers scored two goals in a span of 45 seconds to make it a 3-2 game with 14:51 to go in the first half. Utica's first half goals were scored by Desveaux and Hanlon.
The home team then rattled off 14 consecutive goals to essentially put the contest out of reach as the Cardinals held a 17-2 advantage with 11:30 left on the third quarter clock.
UC outscored Fisher 10-4 in the final 23:20 of the contest -- including eight consecutive goals to close out the game -- but the comeback bid fell short as the Cardinals came away with a nine goal victory. Four of Desveaux's six goals came in the fourth quarter of action.
