Olean, NY – The Utica College men's tennis team traveled to compete against the Alfred University Saxons for some Empire 8 action on Saturday. Alfred swept the match points on the day, defeating UC 9-0.
Joshua Palmer (Southington, CT/Wilcox Technical) pushed Alfred's Michael Ross in the second set of the matchup before losing the fifth singles heat 6-2, 7-6. Palmer was teamed up with
Christian Carman (Westwood, NJ/Westwood) in third doubles as the pair lost 8-3.
Carman was defeated in fourth singles 7-4, 6-2, while teammate
Maki Medici (Watervliet, NY/Shaker) fell to opponent Ryan Brown 6-2, 6-2.
The Pioneers drop to 0-4 this spring season after the loss. The team will be back home on April 18th for an E8 battle with Hartwick College.
