UTICA, NY- The Utica College women's lacrosse team is set to host Hartwick College in a crucial Empire 8 Conference contest Wednesday afternoon. Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m.

Katie McDowell (Wynantskill, NY/Averill Park) had a team-high four goals…
Brooke Miller (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) netted three goals and
Kaitlynn Palmer (Verona, NY/VVS) totaled four points on two goals and two assists…
Lauren Wolff (Peabody, MA/Peabody) and
Hailee DuMont (Wilkes-Barre, PA/James M. Coughlin) each had multiple goals and
Natalie Capriglione (New Milford, CT/New Milford) and
Noelle Capriglione (New Milford, CT/New Milford) each had one… Freshman
Sydney Scaccia (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) found the back of the net for her first collegiate goal…
Amanda Lupo (Auburn, NY/Skaneateles) picked up the win as she made six saves and allowed just two goals in 41 minutes of work.
E8 STANDINGS: The Pioneers are currently tied with Hartwick for fourth place in the conference standings with a 3-2 mark in league play… Utica still has to play Nazareth College, which is tied for first, and Alfred University, so Wednesday's winner will get a big push towards locking up a playoff spot… The Pioneers are in search of their first Empire 8 Tournament appearance since 2006.
100 CLUB: With three goals on Saturday, senior
Brooke Miller (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) became just the ninth player in program history to score 100 goals in a career… Miller needs two more goals to move into seventh place on the College's career goal-scoring list… She leads the team with 26 goals on the season and she is second on the squad with 29 points… Miller is in the midst of a nine-game scoring streak, in which she has scored 21 goals and added two assists.
LEADING THE WAY: Freshman
Stephanie Husnay (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) continues to lead the team with 35 points… She also has a team-high 16 assists and she is tied for second on the team with 19 goals… Husnay has a 10-game scoring streak and she has been held without a point just once this season.
BALANCED ATTACKED: Seven different players have scored at least 10 goals on the season…
Kaitlynn Palmer (Verona, NY/VVS) and
Natalie Capriglione (New Milford, CT/New Milford) are tied with Husnay for second in scoring with 19 goals…
Lauren Wolff (Peabody, MA/Peabody) ranks third on the team with 25 points (15 goals, 10 assists) and
Katie McDowell (Wynantskill, NY/Averill Park) has scored a career-high 16 goals and added four assists.
LUPO EARNS E8 HONORS: Senior
Amanda Lupo (Auburn, NY/Skaneateles) was named the Empire 8 Conference Goalie of the Week on Monday for her effort in helping Utica defeat Houghton… In just over 40 minutes of work, Lupo made six saves and allowed just two goals to help down the Highlanders… On the season, she has a .667 save percentage in four games played.
SCOUTING HARTWICK: The Hawks are 7-4 overall and they are tied with the Pioneers in fourth place in the conference with a 3-2 mark in league play… Hartwick is coming off a 19-4 loss to #19 Stevens on Saturday… Hartwick is led by senior Ashley Werner, who leads the conference with 4.73 goals per game.
AGAINST THE HAWKS: The Pioneers are 5-0 against Hartwick in the last five years… Last year, Utica narrowly escaped with a 13-12 win…
