ROCHESTER, NY- The Utica College women's hockey team allowed three unanswered goals as it fell to host Nazareth College in UCHC Conference action Friday evening.

With the loss, the Pioneers drop to 12-4 on the year (9-2 UCHC), while the Golden Flyers improve to 12-3-1 on the year and 8-3 in league play. The teams will wrap up the season series Saturday at 2 p.m.

The Pioneers got on the board with just 1:09 remaining in the first period as junior
Rebecca Brown (Steamboat Springs, CO/Norwich University) found the back of the net for her team-leading ninth of the year. Senior
Kayla Dion (Colchester, VT/Boston Shamrocks) and sophomore
Katrina Cornick (Mason City, IA/Rocky Mountain Roughriders) assisted on the power play tally.

Nazareth evened the score at 11:03 of the second period as Gabriella DeMeo put in her seventh of the season, off assists from Jessica Kollberg and Hailey Redders.

The Golden Flyers took the lead just 37 seconds into the third period when Nikolle Van Stralen put in a power play tally, her fifth of the year, assisted by Redders. Naz extended the lead at 8:48 as Taylor Hudon put in a feed from Emily Kromer for her tenth of the year.

Both teams were 1-for-3 on the power play, while the Pioneers held a slight advantage in shots on goal, 29-26. Junior
Bria Reilly (Hamden, CT/Brewster Academy) made 22 saves in net for Utica, while Naz's Adrianna Brehm had 28 saves in the win.Â
