UTICA, NY- The Utica College men's soccer team suffered its first conference loss of the season Saturday night as it dropped a 1-0 nail biter to visiting Nazareth College in Empire 8 action. 
 
After a scoreless first half, Naz broke the deadlock at 62:54 when leading scorer Jake Adams fired in a free kick from just outside the box that tucked inside the left post for his eighth of the year.
 
That was all the visitors needed as Utica was not able to net the equalizer. 
 
Nick Spooner (Lisbon, NY/Lisbon) finished with six saves in his second consecutive start, while Brian Wilkin picked up the clean sheet for the Golden Flyers. 
 
Utica (9-3-2, 2-1-1 Empire 8) will look to bounce back next Saturday as it travels to Sage for an Empire 8 showdown.  Game time is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
