Utica, NY – The Utica College men's soccer team dropped to 9-5-2 on the season in a non-conference loss to Hobart by a score of 3-0 on Tuesday night.
The Statesmen set the tone early on in this contest, with goals from Kyle Mangold in the 18
th minute, Juan Widoycovich in the 20
th, and then Binjo Emmanuel in the 22
nd off a penalty kick. This four-minute time span would showcase the only scoring of this match, as neither team was able to find the back of the net for the rest of the game.

Nick Spooner (Lisbon, NY/Lisbon) and
Chris Rosato (Roxbury, CT/Nonnewaug) combined for three saves on the night. This was also Rosato's debut in the net for the Pioneers, and he held Hobart scoreless in the second half.
The Pioneers currently sport a 2-2-1 record in the Empire 8, which leaves them tied for second overall with Elmira with two more conference games left to play in the season. The Nazareth Golden Flyers hold the top spot in conference with a perfect 3-0-1 E8 record, three points more than the second-placed Utica and Elmira.
UC will travel on the road this weekend to face Alfred on Saturday at 5 p.m. before returning home for senior day the following Saturday at 1 p.m for the final game of the season against Hartwick.
