Box Score HOUGHTON, NY- The Utica College volleyball team fell to second place Houghton College 3-0 in Empire 8 Conference action Saturday.

The Pioneers will wrap up their 2019 campaign Wednesday as they host SUNY Delhi. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Houghton cruised to a 25-10 victory in set one, but the Pioneers responded to make it interesting in the second set, before falling 25-23. Houghton came away with a 25-22 win in set three to take the match.

Junior
Meaghan Romaguera (Stone Ridge, NY/Rondout) led Utica with five kills, while
Rosemarie Fesko (Goshen, NY/Central) had four kills and
Kurstan Martin (Owego, NY/Tioga) chipped in with three. Romaguera also had a season-high five aces to aid the offense.Â
Rosemarie Fesko (Goshen, NY/Central) and
Brenna Stanton (Chittenango, NY/Chittenango) helped out with seven assists each on the day.

Fesko also led UC with nine digs, while
McKenna LaPorte (Liverpool, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse ) had six digs, and
Cameron Boehlert (Utica, NY/Whitesboro ) totaled five digs on the evening.Â
