UTICA, NY - The Utica College volleyball team is set to host SUNY Delhi on Wednesday. The match is their last home match of the season at the Harold T. Clark Athletic Center. The senior night match will begin at 7 p.m.

THANK YOU SENIORS: The Pioneers will honor the dedication of their senior class alongside the evening's match. Seniors Monique Fletcher (Waterford, CT/Norwich Free Academy), Holly Kalil (Inlet, NY/Town of Webb), and Lindsey Hannel (Victor, NY/Victor) have won 20 matches in total over the past four seasons with Utica.Â
LAST TIME OUT: The Pioneers dropped both of their matches this weekend against Alfred University and Houghton College. After dropping the first set against Alfred, Utica surged ahead by winning the next two sets. However that effort was later matched as Alfred won the final two sets for a 3-2 final score. The Pioneers faced the Highlanders the following day, and Houghton prevailed by a 3-0 score. Junior Meaghan Romaguera (Stone Ridge, NY/Rondout) led the team with 17 kills and three assists against Alfred. She also led the Pioneers with a season-high five aces against the Highlanders.Â
EMPIRE 8 LEADERS: Freshman Taylor Crowley (Washington Township, NJ/Washington Township) is ranked fourth in the conference with 4.27 digs per game while freshman Cameron Boehlert (Utica, NY/Whitesboro ) is ranked ninth with 3.14. As a team, the Pioneers are ranked fifth in the conference averaging 15.26 digs per game.Â
TEAM LEADERS: Romaguera leads the Pioneers in most categories on the year with 183.5 points, 150 kills and 237 digs. Sophomore Jenna Prewasnicak (Rochester, NY/Churchville-Chili) leads the team in assists with 169. Alicja Swiechowska (Carmel, NY/Carmel) leads the team in blocks with 38.Â
TEAM STATS: Collectively, the Pioneers have recorded a total of 664 kills and 599 assists this season.Â
SCOUTING DELHI: The Broncos are 10-11 this season. They are led by Witchney Clersainville with 192 kills, eight assists and 24 diggs. Erica Prindle leads the team with 506 assists. Teammate Shelby Nolan leads the team in digs with 304. Local product Chloe Elsenbeck of New Hartford is over 100 kills and 30 aces in her first season with the Broncos.Â
HISTORY: The Pioneers have faced off against the Broncos six times with a .500 record with three wins and three losses. Their last win came in 2018, beating Delhi 3-0. Delhi has only recently elevated to four year athletics after a long stint in the NJCAA.
UP NEXT: The Pioneers will have fourteen players eligible to return to the team next season as they build towards the future of the program.
