MIDDLEBURY, VT- The Utica College women's hockey team fell to nationally ranked No. 2 Middlebury College 4-0 in non-conference action Saturday afternoon.
With the win, Middlebury remains undefeated on the season (5-0-2), while the Pioneers drop to 3-5 on the year. UC will look to bounce back Tuesday as it hosts Castleton University. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
The Panthers used a pair of power play goals in the first period, both off the stick of Jenna Letterie, to jump out to a 2-0 lead. Middlebury added one goal in both the second and third periods as Sidney Portner and Alexis Ryan each netted their first goals of the year.
Senior
Bria Reilly (Hamden, CT/Brewster Academy) turned aside 41 shots, marking her second outing with over 40 saves so far this season. Lin Han meanwhile made 12 saves for the Panthers.
