AMHERST, NY- The Utica College women's lacrosse team cruised to a 20-8 win over Medaille College in non-conference action Wednesday. 10 different players scored for UC in the win.
With the win, Utica improves to 4-1 to start the season, marking its best start to a season in five years. The Pioneers return to action Monday as they travel to nearby SUNY Poly. Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
Utica jumped out to a quick start as it netted five goals in the first 5:17 of play. The Pioneers went on to take a 13-5 lead into halftime. The second half was more of the same as UC tacked on seven more scores to earn the lopsided victory.
Freshman
Lexi Scaccia (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) led Utica with six points, including a team-high five goals, and she also added six draw controls and five ground balls.

Sinead Bonner (Staten Island, NY/Curtis) each had two goals on the day. Sophomore
Lauren Wolff (Peabody, MA/Peabody) had a goal and two assists, while
Kaitlynn Palmer (Verona, NY/VVS) and
Natalie Capriglione (New Milford, CT/New Milford) also scored.
Bonner had a team-best three caused turnovers, while
Noelle Capriglione (New Milford, CT/New Milford) had two, and Scarpinella,
Caroline Wiley (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro),
Lexi Scaccia (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro),
Brittany Nowak (Eden, NY/Eden),
Emily Rossi (Verona, NY/Vernon-Verona-Sherrill),
Katie McDowell (Wynantskill, NY/Averill Park),
Addison Green (Marcy, NY/Whitesboro), and
Hannah Nordstrom (Fairhaven, MA/Fairhaven) each had one caused turnover.
Utica was 11-for-12 on clear attempts, while the Pioneers held Medaille to just 3-18 on clears. UC also outshot the Mavericks 32-16 on the day. Junior goalie
