Last Time Out: At the 20th anniversary of Utica College women's lacrosse, the Pioneers put on a show at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium, taking down conference foe Alfred by a 26-0 margin... Utica had 16 different scorers on the afternoon, led by seniors
Katie McDowell (Wynantskill, NY/Averill Park) and
Natalie Capriglione (New Milford, CT/New Milford) with three goals each… Freshman
Lexi Scaccia (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) added two goals and two assists…
Claire Frier (Lafayette, NY/Lafayette) and
Hali Vandermeulen (Walden, NY/Valley Central) combined for the shutout with three saves.

Can't Stop Scarp: Senior Kaitlyn Scarpinella has been the backbone to the Pioneers' offense this season... She is second on the team in both goals (21) and assists (16), giving her a team-leading 37 points.

Lavish Lexi: Freshman sensation
Lexi Scaccia (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) has been on a tear thus far, scoring 19 goals and adding nine assists in 11 games this season… She also has 35 ground balls and 16 caused turnovers to her name... Scaccia currently leads the Empire 8 in draw controls per game with 6.64.

In The Cage: Junior
Hali Vandermeulen (Walden, NY/Valley Central) has been rock solid in net for Utica this season... She has started all 11 games, posted a 7.46 GAA, a .557 save percentage, and an 8-2 record. Vandermeulen is ninth nationally in save percentage and she ranks third in the conference with a 7.46 goals against average… Freshman
Claire Frier (Lafayette, NY/Lafayette) was named the Empire 8 Goalie of the Week on Monday after she made three saves to help Utica to a 26-0 shutout win over Alfred.Â

Helping Out: Sophomore
Lauren Wolff (Peabody, MA/Peabody) leads the team with 21 assists on the year and she is second on the squad with 30 points… Wolff is currently tied for first in the conference with 1.91 assists per game.

Scouting the Cardinals: St. John Fisher comes into the contest ranked No. 16 in the latest IWLCA national poll... The Cardinals are currently 3-0 in conference play and 10-1 overall. Fisher has not lost to Utica College since 2010, going 8-0 in that timespan.
