TROY, NY- The Utica College softball team picked up a pair of big Empire 8 Conference wins over host The Sage Colleges as it won 5-4 and 12-0 Saturday afternoon. Junior
Alyssa Samborin (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen) had a no-hitter in game two, while
Jacqueline Aronin (Naugatuck, CT/Naugatuck High School) was 4-for-7 with five RBIs on the day to help Utica complete the sweep
Utica 5, Sage 4- Game One Final
After falling down 1-0 in game one, the Pioneers rallied to score two runs in the fourth inning and tack on three runs in the seventh to come away with the 5-4 win.
After taking a commanding 5-1 lead in the seventh, Sage came back to plate three runs, but it was not enough as the Pioneers held on for a 5-4 win. Junior
Sadie Evans (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) drove in the tying runs and
Nicole Rice (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville South) and
Jacqueline Aronin (Naugatuck, CT/Naugatuck High School) drove in the winning runs to complete the comeback.
Nicole Rice (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville South) led the way going 3-for-4 with an RBI. Freshman
Kaitlyn Paul (Albany, NY/Guilderland) was 2-for-4

Sadie Evans (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa), and
Emily Joss (South Glens Falls, NY/South Glens Falls) each had one hit.
Sophomore Gabriella Caccamo struck out five and allowed just two earned runs in the win.
Utica 12, Sage 0- Game Two Final
After going ahead 2-0 in the third inning, the Pioneers broke the game open with seven runs in the fourth and UC tacked on three more runs in the fifth to come away with the run-rule victory.

Jamie Miller (Boonville, NY/Adirondack) and
Emily Joss (South Glens Falls, NY/South Glens Falls) also recorded hits for the Pioneers
