UTICA, NY - The Utica College women's lacrosse team looks to continue its historic season on Tuesday as it takes on the Roos from SUNY Canton in non-conference play. Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m.

Last Time Out: Utica cruised to a 19-2 win over Elmira College on Saturday… 11 Different players scored at least one goal for Utica… Freshman
Lexi Scaccia (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) led the way with four goals, while
Kaitlynn Palmer (Verona, NY/VVS) and
Katie McDowell (Wynantskill, NY/Averill Park) each had two goals and three assists to tie for the team-lead with five points.

Records Are Meant to Be Broken: With the win on Saturday, the Pioneers set a new program record for wins in a season (11)…UC also matched its single-season conference win record of five and Utica is currently tied for second in the Empire 8 standings with a 5-2 mark in league play… Junior
Hali Vandermeulen (Walden, NY/Valley Central) is tied with Erin Jacobson for most wins in a single season (10)... Vandermeulen is also now just one win from tying Pioneer Hall of Famer Shelby Barbay '12 for most wins in a career (26).

Statistical Leaders: Lauren Wolff (Peabody, MA/Peabody) (1.50),
Katlyn Scarpinella (South Setauket, NY/Ward Melville) (1.36), and
Stephanie Husnay (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) (0.93) currently sit in the top 10 in the Empire 8 for assists per game, ranking fourth, sixth, and tenth, respectively… Scarpinella is also seventh in the conference in points per game (3.14)… For goalies,
Hali Vandermeulen (Walden, NY/Valley Central) leads the E8 and ranks ninth nationally with a .550 save percentage… Her 7.95 goals against average is third in the conference and 19
th nationally.

Ultimate Upperclassmen: Senior
Katlyn Scarpinella (South Setauket, NY/Ward Melville) and junior
Kaitlynn Palmer (Verona, NY/VVS) are the backbone to the Utica offense this spring… They have scored a combined 54 goals and 26 assists, good for 80 points, in just 14 games played.

Sensational Scaccia: Freshman
Lexi Scaccia (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) has continued to be a force on the turf this season... She is currently sitting on 23 goals and 12 assists, and she has the most draw controls in the Empire 8 Conference with 85 and 6.07 draw controls per game.

Scouting the Kangaroos: SUNY Canton comes into the contest with a 12-3 overall record, and a 5-0 record in the North Athletic Conference… The Roos have not lost since April 16th and have won six of their last seven contests… SUNY Canton has two players with over 50 points on the season, led by junior Molly Denny, who has 73 points on 47 goals and 26 assists in 14 games this season.
