Utica, NY – The Utica College men's tennis team will be at home this Wednesday, to face off against SUNY Delhi for some non-conference tennis action. The match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
Last Time Out: The Pioneers met Oswego State for the first time this season over the weekend. In their last match, the Lakers defeated the Pioneers 6-3 at home. The loss puts Utica's record down to 0-3 overall, while the team remains 0-2 in Empire 8 play.
Singles Victories: Despite the loss to Oswego State, the Pioneers were able to pick up a couple wins in singles play. Freshman

Matt Zbytniewski (Newport, NY) and senior
Garrett Bortiatynski (Rome, NY/Holland Patent) were all able to get their first win of the year. Bortiatynski won his matchup 6-2, 7-5, while McGrain and Zbytniewski both went to a third set to earn a match point.
Scouting SUNY Delhi: The SUNY Delhi Broncos are currently 2-3 overall and 0-1 against North Atlantic Conference opponents. The team most recently lost, 6-3, against The Sage Colleges in its match over the weekend. Utica College will be looking to get their first win of the year on Wednesday.
Looking Ahead: The Pioneers are at it again on Friday for another home contest, as they will host Hamilton College. This non-conference matchup is set to begin at on April 5
th at 4:30 p.m.
